This is the flower of the bo tree.  Siddartha Gautama was sitting under one of these trees when he attained enlightenment.  This one is on the grounds of the Royal Palace, where the king lives. More on the king and the things citizens can't say about him later. 

This beasty orb is from the same bo tree. This is why the another vernacular name is "the cannon ball tree". I wonder if these bombs have anything to do with feelings enlightenment.  

Either it was the wind or Mollie somehow stored up a huge reservoir of static electricity. 

Like Tijuana, Phnom Penh has some building code issues.  We saw one person atop an aluminum ladder, working on cables with bare hands.  He was working on TV cable, but still.  His assistant was holding the ladder as steady as he could with only one ladder leg on the ground. 

Unlike Tijuana, sweeping is constant here.  This worker has left a fifty yard wake of clear curb. Every shop has a crude broom at the door that is used often. 

The hotel breakfast menu is a wonderful blend of French and Khmer.  This is banana hotcakes with peanut butter pralines.  What looks like butter with your bread may be lemon butter or Bernaise.  Bread is baked fresh and delivered all over the city every morning, usually by motorcycle.  As I write this, I have just received a steaming bowl of ramen-style noodles with mushroom, roast chicken, chives and - sorry, I gotta eat breakfast! 

On the grounds of the royal palace.  Remind me to tell you about the diamond we saw that is five times the size of the Kobe Bryant apology rock he got his wife to save his marriage.  It is that sort of perspective that finally impressed Connor and Griffin. 

The top of this tree was loaded with screeching fruit bats.  We were astounded.  Our tuk tuk driver asked if we had these in the US.
